Batman Who Laughs: The Grim Knight #1 – I know this is a little reductive, but comparing Grim Knight to Cosmic Ghost Rider really shows the difference between Marvel and DC these days. Grim Knight is an alternative reality Batman who basically comes off as the Punisher, and the stories are ponderous and so grimdark. Cosmic Ghost Rider is Frank Castle, Ghost Rider, and a herald of Galactus in one…and they bring on comedian Paul Scheer to have a lot of crazy fun. I am not saying either way is necessarily wrong, but I miss fun comics.

Magnificent Ms. Marvel #1 – It’s going to be so weird to read a Ms Marvel book not by G Willow Wilson. But she is one of my favorite characters, and I am glad she is back in this new series so quickly. Will definitely check it out.

Age of Conan: Belit #1 – I have really enjoyed Marvel’s Conan books, but as I have said before, I do worry that Marvel may be oversaturating the market. I don’t even know who Belit is or why they need their own book…They are kind of doing the same thing with Star Wars (there are 10 Star Wars comics coming out in May). But I guess if that is what selling, they are going to go with it.

Hit-Girl Season Two #2 – Was surprised that the first issue of this series featured a school shooting. It was actually pretty well handled, I just wasn’t expecting it. Kevin Smith is doing this current arc, and it takes Hit Girl to Hollywood.

Marvel Action Spider-Man #2 – Feel like it has been a long time since the first issue of this all ages Spider-Man series from IDW came out. My eight year old son is a huge Miles Morales fan (not to mention Spiderverse), so this book is just right for him.
