Quite a few new books I am excited about coming from Marvel this week
- War of the Realms #1 – Years of build up in Jason Aaron’s Thor work has led us to this. I have loved Aaron’s work, so I am real curious to see how it all plays out. Hopefully this event will live up to all the build.
- Major X #1 – Rob Liefeld returns to X-Men with this new mini-series. X-Force was basically my favorite comic when I started reading comics, so I have always had a warm place in my heart for Liefeld. Not sure this book fits in the current comic industry, but I will give it a look.
- Marvel Team-up #1 – I love these types of books. It’s a great way to get a lot of exposure to a lot of less familiar characters. Eve Ewing has been great on Ironheart, so I can’t wait to see what she can do with a bigger corner of the Marvel Universe to play in.
- Marvel Action Black Panther #1 – Technically, this is from IDW, not Marvel. I don’t quite understand the relationship between IDW and Marvel, but Marvel Action has been a line of young reader books starring Marvel characters. My son really enjoys Marvel Action Spider-Man and Marvel Action Avengers, so he will be happy to add Black Panther to his reading experience.
- Curse Words: Spring has Sprung Special #1 – Curse Words is just about my favorite Image book. This is the last “flashback” special as Curse Words starts to wind down for good. I believe this is the story of how Wizord and Ruby had and lost their child. Definitely a chapter in their history that I have been hoping gets resolved.
