Explaining The Two Surprise Appearances In In FKA Captain Marvel / Shazam Film Plus The Two Post Credit Scenes! Who’s Who In The DC Universe!

(1) An early scene in the movie includes the old Wizard Shazam explaining with imagery to Billy Batson that a champion was picked before him and that they made a mistake choosing him because he unleashed the Seven Deadly Sins which then had to be recaptured.

That first champion is Black Adam who the actor Dwayne Johnson has signed on to play in his own standalone film.

(2) A late scene in the film has Billy Batson as Shazam join Freddy Freeman at lunch in school to help him out and he brings Superman with him. While we don’t see Superman’s face, the costume is costume worn by Henry Cavill.

(3) The first post credits scene, essentially a mid credits scene, has the defeated and de-powered Doctor Sivana in prison.

However, while in the movie we met Sivana’s dad, we didn’t meet the rest of his family.

He’s met by Mister Mind a telepathic caterpillar who seemingly will be in the Shazam 2 film.

How big a threat will be? Will we see the Monster Society of Evil?

(4) The final post credit scene, Freedy Freeman is working with Shazam to continue to test his powers. They test whether he can talk to fish a la Aquaman, but he can’t.

(BONUS) Finally, it’s nice we saw the modern take on the Shazam Family in the Shazam film (full spoilers here) instead of the more comical OG take.

Shazam is in movie theaters now.
