I’m happy to see that Port of Earth is returning from its hiatus. It’s a terrific science fiction series that examines what happens after an alien consortium builds a port on Earth, but not exactly for reasons of galactic diplomacy.

I’m also looking forward to new issues of Black Badge, Daredevil, East of West, Farmhand, Gideon Falls, Guardians of the Galaxy, Incursion, Little Bird, Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt, Teen Titans (only because of the Deathstroke crossover), Uncanny X-Men, and the last issue of X-O Manowar.

  • Mary Shelley Monster Hunter #1 – It feels like this kind of book has been done before, but Aftershock always manages to put a clever spin on things, so I will likely be checking it out anyway.
  • Assassin Nation #2 – Came across the first issue after a recommendation from 11 O Clock Comics. It was one of the most insane, balls out crazy fun comics I have ever read. Sort of feels like what Die!Die!Die! should have been. I have no idea where this crazy book is going, but I am definitely along for the ride.
  • Naomi #4 – Supposedly this book is already going for $20 or so on Ebay. I find it hard to believe anyone would be willing to pay that to find out what Naomi’s secret past is all about. Naomi has been a decent book, but these days you can get a digital copy the day of release. I suspect this is pure hype and speculators, because there is no logical reason a reader would pay that.
  • Avengers: No Road Home #10 – I really have enjoyed these weekly Avengers events. They are much better than the core Avengers books, most of the time. Hopefully we will get more of this in the future.
  • Major X #2 – First issue was a true Valentine to 90’s comics. I loved it, and it’s been real fun to see Rob Liefeld doing what he does best!
  • Spider-Man Life Story #2 – Setting Spider-Man stories in the context of real life historical events could be a tricky premise, but I liked how they did it in the first issue. This issue moves things to the 70’s. Definitely a compelling series worth your time and money.
