On Monday night’s performance finale of The Voice, finalists Andrew Sevener, Dexter Roberts, Gyth Rigdon and Maelynn Jarmon squared off for the final time before the winner is crowned. The contestants were each asked to sing a solo cover, a new song and a duet with their respective coach.
I caught up with Andrew Sevener on the red carpet immediately after the show to get his take on his final competitive performances of the season. I asked him for his thoughts about the night and how he joked that his last name is ‘Sevener’ and that his coach, Blake Shelton, is going for his seventh win. I asked him what it was like to go up against two fellow Team Blake members in the finale and what their camaraderie has been like given that only one of them could be named the winner. I also asked Andrew why country artists seem to always perform well on The Voice.
