The book opens with Bruce Wayne in an insane asylum with Alfred Pennyworth telling him his Batman narrative is a figment of his imagination.
Bruce Wayne does not believe it; won’t believe it.
Alfred then decides to share Bruce Wayne’s cowl with him…
…via a Batman costume?
Turns out its a shock therapy restraint bridle and not a Batman costume.
Batman absconds with this “costume” and escapes…
…with Alfred Pennyworth revealing his real, older face. Batman is in the future…
…but he doesn’t understand why he is still young.
Batman then crawls out of the sands of the desert; confusing readers into thinking this is still all in Bruce Wayne’s head perhaps?
He then finds a lantern with the Joker’s head in it; Futurama style.
Batman and Noggin team-up for the first and last time.
They end up in Coast City and get attacked by Green Lantern constructs seemingly with a life over their own over Hal Jordan?
They get saved…
…by Vixen and Poison Ivy who want to know who Omega is.
They restrain Bruce Wayne…
…who is freed by Doctor Fate who is Wonder Woman under the helm.
She then reveals the future to Batman; seemingly covering some of DC’s Year of the Villain with Justice League vs. Legion of Doom. Plus, she reveals someone named Omega sprung up as a bigger threat and even killed Darkseid!
Wonder Woman thinks Omega is one of Batman’s once kid sidekicks / partners! She has his costume and…
…the book ends with Batman and Noggin out in this wasteland future world on the trail of Omega possibly.
Then we get a tease of Batman: Last Knight on Earth #2.
