Marvel Comics Universe and Avengers #20 Spoilers and Review follows.

All She-Hulk In Epic All Smash Issue! …

Plus Purple Hulk(s)?!

In the recent past, Jennifer Walters aka the She-Hulk, cousin of David Bruce Banner aka the Immortal Hulk, grapples with her new visage and Hulk persona…

…pining for her statuesque days…

…with herself even…

…in her lawyerly non-Hulk persona; turns out its all part of state-of-the-art Wakanda technology to help strengthen Jennifer’s mind and control over her She-Hulk self.

The present, She-Hulk remains an Avengers powerhouse…

…dealing mightily and violently with the threats during War of the Realms.

She even has time to help out fellow team member Blade, plus the future Agents of Wakanda team, as they deals with Roxxon Super Soldiers who are essentially purple Hulks.

Perhaps that’s a friendly dig at creator Rob Liefeld’s purple Hulk called Smash that we saw when he was working on the Fighting American around 1998?

Anyhow, She-Hulk even has time to commune with cosmic Dardevil before…

…she gets back to the War of the Realms action.

While I’m partial to the classic portrayal of She-Hulk, best exemplified in John Byrne’s 1985 Marvel Graphic Novel #18, I’m enjoying this new 2019 take on Jennifer Walters.

Next issue, on the road to milestone Avengers #25, is a bit of a party after the war was won in War of the Realms #6 (full spoilers here).

That includes moving to the front burner the Squadron Supreme of America and returned-from-the-dead Agent Coulson and…

…Mephisto?!

The Pulse:

A great spotlight issue on She-Hulk and a bit of an event breather, despite taking place during War of the Realms; it’s not a consequential tie-in. Amazing Ed McGuiness art and Jason Aaron story. A fun reprieve. 9 out of 10.
