The book opens with some obscure DC characters…

…most of which appear dead…

…after a battle with an unknown entity…

…whose threat remains real for these obscure DC characters…

…and their United Planets Superwatch?!

Reddit user GrayGhost has identified most of these obscure characters including some of the earlier dead ones plus where they first appeared in DC Comics publishing history:

Can you name the one’s the GrayGhost missed? You’ll also note that “UNited Planets” actually wehre the Legion of Super-Heroes (LOSH) sponsors in the future. Do they exist in modern day whose first super-team is the Superwatch? Here’s a classic look at the LOSH era United Planets here…

…and here.

Anyhow, back to Green Lantern #9. Another gruesome threat hunts for Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Earth O, across the multiverse!

He captures him and the Green Lantern of Earth #20, but…

…a multiverse or multiversity Green Lantern Corps come to the rescue?

Next up is Green Lanterns #10 and the reveal that the Multiverse’s Green Lantern Corps consists of team members from 12 different Earths.

Here’s our Who’s Who so far.

Twelve Earths, but only eight represented on the cover; Earth 0…

…Earth 6…

…Earth 9…

…Earth 20…

…Earth 32…

…Earth 36…

…Earth 47…

…and one more Earth that I’m not clear on; three more Earths to be revealed next issue. Anyhow, any idea who the last member is from Green Lantern #10 cover? Well, we know its not Rond Vidar…

…the first Green Lantern of the Legion of the Super-Heroes.

The Pulse:

A thoroughly entertaining issue with complex, multi-layered yet accessible and engaging story. Great art. 9 out of 10.
