Marvel Comics Universe and Powers Of X #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

X-Men Reboot SHATTERS Past?!

Charles Xavier’s Dream Becomes A Nightmare 1,000 Years In Future!

Plus More Code Cracking!

The story takes place in Year One (the past) with the dream, Year Ten (present) with the world building, Year 100 (future) with a looming war and Year 1000 (distant future) with some kind of ascension.

In Year One Charles Xavier is confronted by a girl who teases 1000 years in the future and two key mutant players and a big deal entity; the two mutants we’ve met in Rasputin and Cardinal, but the third entity we meet in this issue.

Xavier is shocked by who this woman is, but readers don’t learn who she is in this issue.

We then move to Year Ten which seems to pick up after last week’s House of X #1 (full spoilers here).

Modern day presumed Charles Xavier uses his mental powers to bend others to his well; very un-Xavier.

We then pivot to 100 years in the future and see Cardinal and Rasputin trying trio figure out how to save their friend Cylobel…

…as a war with Nimrods rage.

Nimrod is the third entity eased earlier in this issue.

He/it has a personality like never before, but…

…a killer determination that seems to put an end to Cylobel.

Rasputin and Cardinal that regroup with…

…Magneto and Wolverine who have endured almost 100 years from now.

1,000 years in the future we met the Librarian and…

…the surviving Nimrod in an all-new form.

There has been changes to not just mutants, but homo sapiens as well; what does the far future hold? Terror.

This new future, context and what’s happened to this point are explained in the following communiques.

Plus, Marvel still is using the new X-Men secret language code to tease what’s next.

You can use the cipher to crack that code in your newly weekly coding breaking efforts. The above reads: “The Curious Case of Moira X“. The below reads: “Hello Old friend, Hello old friend“.

The Pulse:

A thought-provoking and chilling look at how a dream becomes nightmare. The story pulls readers in across times in a compelling and intriguing way. Solid story and art. 9 out of 10.
