On Friday August 9, I had the chance to catch up with Kofi Kingston ahead of Summerslam 2019 title defence against Randy Orton in Toronto. We discussed why it took so long for him to be rewarded with the championship title. I also asked him if thought he thought he would ever be more than the guy who just did Royal Rumble stunts to save himself from elimination. The WWE champion also discussed Ali’s injury and if it resulted in his gain.
