  • Grendel: Devil’s Odyssey #1 – I didn’t really start reading Grendel until the War Child mini came along, so I’m very excited to see Grendel Prime return.
  • I’m also looking forward to new issues of Berserker Unbound, Daredevil, Deathstroke, Die, Doctor Aphra, House of X, Immortal Hulk, Legion of Super-Heroes Millennium, Manifest Destiny (at last!), Punisher, Sea of Stars, and Star Wars.
  • I’m going to be taking a look through Absolute Carnage Immortal Hulk (to see how much it ties in to the main Hulk series) and Ghost Rider.

  • Legion Of Super-Heroes Millennium #2 – A lot of people hated that the Legion did not appear in issue 1. I actually liked that we got a history of the future DC universe from the perspective of someone who lived through it. Maybe Thorn was an odd choice for that, but I still thought it was a cool premise and executed real well. I loved the way Bendis wrote the Legion in the last issue of Superman, so I do look forward to seeing more of that, but if this issue is just setup for the ongoing, I wouldn’t be particularly upset about that either.
  • Grendel: Devil’s Odyssey #1 – All new Grendel by Matt Wagner? YES PLEASE!! Grendel is a book I come back to all the time and find new things to love, so getting more Wagner Grendel is always welcome!
  • Dark Ark After The Flood #1 – My one gripe about Aftershock is that so many of their series just come to an end and stop. It’s just not what I am used to as a comic reader. Dark Ark was a terrific look at an alternate telling of what else was going on during Noah’s time. Real curious what comes next for this series.
  • Marvel Comics #1001 – Marvel Comics #1000 was real hit or miss for me. I did enjoy a lot of the one page stories we got, but throughout the book, Marvel was trying to draw one thread through the entire Marvel universe and it just didn’t grab me at all. I normally like Al Ewing, but this just didn’t quite feel like the right fit for this kind of story. I will still likely pick this us, just because it seems important to Marvel moving forward, but I don’t have a lot of expectations for it.
  • House of X #6 – I have digital subscriptions for House of X, Powers of X and all the Dawn of X books so I can read them first thing in the morning every Wednesday. Kirkman’s X-Men has been inspiring and so well developed. It is everything I love about comics, and I can’t wait to see how House of X leads into the new status quo moving forward. I am going to miss having a Hickman X-Men book every week.
  • Batman #80 – Loved the last two issues. When King writes a tight focused Batman story, he is at his best. Too often he goes on wandering tangents that just leave me hanging. Hopefully we are back on track, because when King is on his game, he does write one hell of a comic book.
