Leviathan Unmasked As A Classic DC Character! Outwits Batman!

Plus He Successfully Recruits A Superman Ally?!

Leviathan unmasks for the assembled super-heroes of the Justice League.

It turns out to be former Manhunter Mark Shaw!

A very different looking Mark Shaw that Superman doesn’t recognize; that may be a good thing since Mark Shaw’s pre-Flashpoint history is complicated as are the several other Manhunters’.

He faces the full wrath of DC super-heroes and detectives…

…on the side of Justice and Doom in fact and…

…outwits them all including Batman and Superman!

The book ends with Lois Lane exposing former Manhunter Mark Shaw as Leviathan and…

…the promise of more Leviathan in the pages of Action Comics with his ally the Guardian!

Mark Shaw’s DC Rebirth era persona has yet to be established, but…

…he was teased in 2013’s Wonder Woman #23.1: Cheetah #1, but that went nowhere.

The character came to prominence when he was revived by writer John Ostrander in the 1980s.

He was part of a special Secret Origins issue that tied the history of DC’s several Manhunters together.

He appeared in Suicide Squad and in his own ongoing series that lasted about two years.

Although Kate Spencer has held the mantle of Manhunter since 2004.

The Pulse:

An intriguing culmination to this mini-series with more from Mark Shaw promised. Good art. Entertaining. 8 out of 10.
