DC Comics Universe & Superman #17 Spoilers & Review: The Truth Shall Set You Free, But What About DC’s Year Of The Villain and Apex Lex Luthor’s Dark Gift To Lois Lane?

Spoilers

DC Comics Universe and Superman #17 Spoilers and Review follows.

The Truth Shall Set You Free, But What About…

…DC’s Year Of The Villain and Apex Lex Luthor’s Dark Gift To Lois Lane?

Lois Lane reveals to Superman a dark gift she received from Apex Lex Luthor, but…

…she won’t share its contents Superman, but in the Daily Planet first? Odd.

They fly into the sky and kiss risking exposing Clark Kent’s wife making-out with Superman again; the world doesn’t know Clark Kent and Superman are the same person.

Later, Superman takes Supergirl to…

…New Krypton being cultivated by the House of Zod.

Supergirl is weary of General Zod, Ursa and Val-Zod, but…

…Superman took her there to let her know about his big revelation to come and then the book ends.

So, it appears that despite the cover to Superman #17 the actual revelation will happen in Superman #18 out on December 11, 2019.

Also, within the book, there was a cool page with Superman doing his scan for trouble; nice.

The Pulse:

So, about the big reveal. If the cover tease of “The Truth” had you thinking it would be revealed at the end of the issue then you like many of us were wrong. Absolute trolling by DC’s PR department. That said, nice seeing the House of Zod again, plus the Lois Lane and Superman dynamic over her dark gift, etc. Great art and ok story, but that cover swerve was terrible. 6 out of 10.
