DC Comics Universe and Supergirl Annual #2 Spoilers and Review follows.

The Seduction Of Kara Zor-El By The Batman Who Laughs!

Plus Krypton’s Hawkman Catar-Ol Returns With Spider-Man and Mary Jane?!

The book mysteriously opens on thriving Krypton with Kara Zor-El being haunted by her infected Secret Six persona.

Looks like we’re in the past where Catar-Ol, the Kryptonian Hawkman, reveals that Kara…

…has been accepted to the Society, a historical leaning establishment; her parents aren’t too pleased as the Els are a family about applied sciences.

We then get more Kryptonian earthquakes, seemingly really brainquakes inside Kara’s head.

Later, she babysits her baby cousin Kal-El and even changes a stinking diaper from a boy would grow up to be Superman.

He gets asked to go on a date with Rix, her date, using the iconic Mary Jane Watson line to Peter Parker Spider-Man!

That happened in 1966’s Amazing Spider-Man #42.

Then we get another brainquake.

Later, the Supergirl Who Laugh…

…emerges for good it seems…

…accepting the death of her worlds, her first crush and her parents.

Krypton explodes and…

…this new Supergirl meets the Batman Who Laughs.

He explains that he was planning to infect Superman, but she’ll do and…

…she’ll do him a favor soon.

In modern day, we’re at the tale end of the battle seen in recent pages of Batman/Superman #4 (full spoilers here) and Supergirl #36 (full spoilers here) with…

…with a confrontation of super-cousins.

The Pulse:

Wow, over 35 pages. More than half was in Supergirl’s head. Nice seeing Catar-Ol again and even learning more of Kara Zor-El’s past. Ok story, but great art. 7 out of 10.
