  • 20XX – I’m a fan of both Luna brothers, and will check out any new title they produce. This one looks good.
  • I’m also looking forward to new issues of Daredevil, Deathstroke (the last one!), Die, Manifest Destiny, Psi-Lords, and X-Men.
  • I’ve decided to add Doctor Doom to the pull-file – it’s a really good series.
  • I’m going to give the Marauders one more chance, but I’ve given up on Excalibur.

John Babos

5 books this week.

  • Deathstroke #50
  • Infected Deathbringer #1
  • Justice League #37
  • Young Justice #11
  • X-Men #3

I used to get at least 2-3 Valiant books monthly too. Some combo of Bloodshot, Ninjak or anything Anni-Padda brothers. Now it’s just Bloodshot. Not pleased with direction of new owners of Valiant.

Fulton: I liked the new Rai’s first issue. Rai meets Lone Wolf and Cub meets Shaolin Cowboy – it has potential. I don’t know what Valiant is up to these days though.

Babos: Upcoming The Visitor looks interesting, but where are the Eternal WarriorS?

  • Usagi Yojimbo #7 – Definitely a sleeper book! The last three issues in particular have been some of the best comics I’ve ever read and no one is talking about this book! So many people complain about Marvel/DC and big events, but continue to ignore amazing books like this! Time to put your money where your mouth is. If you really want great stand alone comics, Usagi Yojimbo must be your next purchase!
  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 – I can’t believe this never happened before! Seems like a real natural combination. This should be a real fun read.
  • New Year’s Evil #1 – While the $10 price tag is brutal, I really like these themed anthology books DC puts out every few months. They are usually full of great stories and feature a wide variety of characters and top notch creative teams.
  • Conan Serpent War #1 – A Conan book with Moon Knight? Definitely not what I expected when Marvel regained the Conan license, but it definitely gets my attention!
  • Batman Universe, Superman Up in the Sky, Wonder Woman Come Back to Me – The last issues of all three of these books came out this week. These collect the original stories from the 100 Page Giants they used to sell only at Walmart. I really enjoyed getting the opportunity to read these stories, especially seeing Bendis on Batman and Tom King on Superman.
