DC Comics Universe and Doomsday Clock #12 Spoilers and Review follows.

EVERYTHING CHANGES!

New DC Comics Reality Includes Metaverse and Multiverse…

…Justice Society Of America (JSA), Legion Of Super-Heroes, The Watchmen and So Much More!

The book opens with the state-based international “heroes” from across the globe, including the Knightfall Azrael Batman working for the Russians it seems, descending on the scene where Superman confronts Dr. Manhattan.

During the confrontation with Superman, Dr. Manhattan realizes that despite Superman knowing now that he was responsible for the Man of Steel’s countless changes over history, a whim of Dr. Manhattan’s, Superman would still protect him.

Dr. Manhattan realizes what must be done…

…everything ends…

…to be reborn a new…

…across a new infinity multiverse…

…where lives are lost and reborn.

Ozymandias’ reckoning comes as…

…as the new Legion of Super-Heroes from the future and reborn Justice Society of America from the past ally with Superman against the might of the assembled international “heroes”.

The new reality is explained…

…as are moments to come for the core DC Earth…

…and this new multiverse within a metaverse (I think).

The Watchmen are also impacted…

…with the classic Watchmen opus seemingly left intact?

Mime and Marionette appears to be staying on this core DC Earth, but it appears the rest of the Watchmen go back to their world in this new multiverse (I think).

On that Watchmen world, a new Dr. Manhattan is born? An amalgam with Superman, but as a boy? He shows up the doorstep of retired Watchmen crime-fighters Nite-Owl and Silk Spectre.

The Pulse:

A gorgeous book on the art side with a complex story that sets up the new DC status quo. The story will require multiple reads to get all the ins and outs. A fun exploration over this holiday and Christmas season. 8 out of 10.
