DC Comics Universe and The Infected: The Commissioner #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

Commissioner Jim Gordon Betrays Daughter Barbara Gordon Batgirl For Batman Who Laugh’s Secret Six Role!

GCPD Commissioner James “Jim” Gordon has been infected by the Batman Who Laughs and is no a member of his Secret Six.

The book opens with Gordon reminiscing about all the pain Gotham City has caused him personally then pivoting to modern day where he has summoned a detective to join him.

Gordon uses something called a Unicorn Key to unlock all the cells in Arkham Asylum freeing the super-villain inmates for a purpose to be revealed later.

Batgirl Barbara Gordon, his daughter, stumbled on some kind of police presence in the area and…

…tries to confirm if its a legit GCPD, but…

…she’s attacked by some villains including Anarky!

I like Anarky better as a kid, as revealed in…

…1989’s Detective Comics #609…

…but I digress.

Batgirl battles all three of them…

…gets the upper hand, but…

…is ordered to help civilians elsewhere by her dad!

An emotional end to an issue that makes the Commissioner appear… conflicted?

The Pulse:

A wordy issue with some action, but I was hoping for more. Ok art. 5.5 out of 10.
