Spoilers

Marvel Comics Universe and Weapon Plus World War IV #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

Man-Slaughter Debuts Plus…

…The Brute Force Return?!

As a reminder, here are the various Weapon X / Weapon Plus teams in Marvel. Plus, Marvel has articulated far more Weapon Plus creations here.

We open woi a story where Man-Slaughter completes a kill mission and…

…we find out he’s a reluctant soldier needing a serum to cure him? However, they have another mission for him involving his brother.

We then pivot to Man-Slaughter’s…

…origin story.

So, Man-Slaughter is after his brother and we find out his brother’s interest and work…

…with fungus…

…that seemingly has been weaponized; trapping him in his own fungused-DNA.

That means Man-Slaughter feels a mercy killing is needed…

…before we tells his handle mission accomplished and kills him too so he can go off on his own and get out from under the military’s thumb who has the serum he needs.

The back-up story involves Brute Force…

…techno-fitted animals…

…who defeat Dr. Echo and appear part of one of the Weapon Plus programs.

The Pulse:

Decent art, but the main story feels like I’ve read it before. The back-up story was intriguing with ok art. 4 out of 10.
