DC Comics Universe and Wonder Twins #12 Spoilers and Review follows.

Unusual New Status Quo….

….That Batman, Superman and…

…Justice League Give…

…Zan, Jayna and Gleek…

…In Wonder Comics Series Finale?!

After the hijinks of this maxi-series and the twins assisting Jayna’s best friend, a presumed criminal, Zan and Jayna are ready for their firing by the Justice League.

However, they actually understand what’s been happening and that despite all their super-powers, power doesn’t solve all problems.

To that end, Justice League benefactor Bruce Wayne sets up a think tank within the Justice League framework where innovative solutions can be found run by the Wonder Twins with her friend and family.

The book ends one year later and thinks seem to going well as the book’s cover promises a second series sometime.

The Pulse:

I’m pleased DC has finally integrated the Wonder Twins into their comics continuity. Its been a long-time coming. Perhaps we’ll see Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, Samurai and El Dorado debut in the teased next series?

The debut of Asterik may also be part of Wonder Comics imprint showrunner Brian Bendis continuing effort to rationalize all of DC’s covert spy and tech agencies. I’m curious how this new entity impacts STAR Labs.

Anyhow, the series and this issue had AMAZING art, but while I like that DC is trying to have different flavours of storytelling, the yuk-yuk tone of this series gnawed at me. It wasn’t my cup of tea; if you’re a Harley Quinn series fan you may well like this series story-wise. That said, I can appreciate the series’ and this finale’s entertainment value. 7 out of 10.
