DC Comics Universe and Batman #91 Spoilers and Review follows.
Designer Strikes! Joker Lingers! Deathstroke Betrayed!
Harley Quinn Vs. Punchline Promised!
The Joker opens the book explaining, in his own unique way, how Gotham City’s top four villains of old – Joker, Penguin, Riddle and Catwoman first encountered the Designer.
It doesn’t have a happy ending for anyone…
…including the Bartender Joker was regaling; scene ends with Joker presumably on the phone with Punchline advancing his plans.
Elsewhere, Harley Quinn and Catwoman are tangled up in the designs of the Designer.
Elsewhere still, the Batman battles Deathstroke…
…find out where the Designer is; Batman assumes Deathstroke knows since the Designer hired ‘Stroke.
Catwoman and Harley Quinn seem to get past the machinations of the Designer as…
…he/she tells Deathstroke he’s no longer needed…
…since he has another more reliable ally in…
…the Riddler?!
I was surprises the issue didn’t end with Harley Quinn bumping into Punchline considering we know they confront each other, and battle, in the next issue; Batman #92 (spoilers here).
The Pulse:
A solid issue on story and art. Twists, turns and chock full of entertainment. 8 out of 10.
