Marvel Comics Conveys That It Has A Covid-19 Coronavirus Publishing Plan, But Doesn’t Reveal It As At Least “Some” New Marvel Issues To Be Released Digitally This Week With No Print Counterpart? This builds on Marvel’s pre-pandemic retailors support plan they revealed.
Diamond Comic Distributors communicated with retailors concerning Marvel Comics’ plans during the Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic. The note read as follows:
- “There are no Marvel items on the March 30 Final Order Cut-off (FOC) list this week. All items that were previously on that list have been rolled forward to have an FOC of April 6 for the time being. As soon as Marvel and Diamond have the proper knowledge on what the future likely holds during these trying times of a Global Pandemic, Marvel will update the FOC dates and On Sale Dates. Marvel assures you there is a larger scale plan being worked on for the upcoming shipping schedule and thanks you for your patience.“
In addition, it appears that Avengers #0 and Fantastic Four #0 from Empyre appear to be available digitally this week despite no print periodical accompanying it. No word on whether other Marvel titles will ship digitally this week.
So, looks like Marvel may be fully or partially following DC Comics plan to print digitally as previously scheduled without print books available. Is this the beginning of the event of direct market periodicals?
