Hammer’s Evil Of Frankenstein Jolts Scream Factory

Fans of Hammer Horror will be excited with the massive upgrade being given to The Evil of Frankenstein. After twice getting barebones releases from Universal in DVD and Blu-ray, Scream Factory is going deep with the bonus features when the release The Evil of Frankenstein: Collector’s Edition in May. This was the third entry in the series after Curse of Frankenstein and Revenge of Frankenstein. Baron Victor Frankenstein (Star Wars‘ Peter Cushing) is back and secretly picking through his family’s estate to fund his experiments. He discovers an old creation trapped in ice and tries to bring him back from the deep freeze. The film has Freddie Francis (2 time Oscar winning cinematographer) taking over the series in the director’s chair. The bonus features give a deeper sense of the film and Freddie Francis. The most exciting extra is the pilot for Hammer’s Tales of Frankenstein TV series that didn’t get picked up. This film’s script was from a pitch for the series so there is a connection.
