Billy Tucci’s Shi Celebrates Vampirella’s 50th Anniversary Via Crowdfunding! Plus In Her Own Book; Shi: Return Of The Warrior!

Here are the details of the successful crowdfunding campaign at Indiegogo:

It’s Vampirella’s 50th anniversary this year, and the newest comic series has sold a record-breaking 80,000+ copies to date! Billy Tucci, the Eisner award winner and creator of SHI, is excited to join Vampirella’s 50th anniversary by offering his own cover design directly to his fans and exclusively on Indiegogo!

“I’ve had the honor to be associated with [Vampirella] many times since I first broke into comics 25 years ago.” – Billy Tucci

Vampirella #1 hit store shelves on July 17th with an amazing 130,000+ copies sold and it continues to sell across the world! Written by Christopher Priest, with interior art by Ergun Gunduz, the new Vampirella is the “IT” book to read this summer.

Supplement your summer reading with Billy Tucci’s Vampirella/Shi cover signed exclusively on INDIEGOGO and no where else!

Billy is a dear friend of ours, with many Dynamite covers to his name. When the new Vampirella series became a runaway success, Billy wanted to know how he could help make this series even bigger and we both agreed a limited edition cover would make a great “love letter” to our most iconic character. And when you combine Vampirella with his beloved creation, Shi, you’re really got something special!

“[This cover] not only celebrates VAMPIRELLA’s 50th anniversary, but also the 25th anniversary of my own creation, SHI.” – Billy Tucci

Billy is offering fans a few different versions of his cover and you have your choice between them! Don’t forget to have Billy sign them with signature reward levels!

Billy is also signing these two highly-limited covers…

      …an 18×24″ heavy paper stock lithograph…

Add this lithograph to any perk level by increasing your order by the following:

      – UNSIGNED LITHOGRAPH: $50
      – SIGNED LITHOGRPAH: $100

And for Billy’s biggest fans… he’ll be doing original, hand-drawn sketches on copies of the “Black & White Virgin” cover!

The successful campaign has exceeded 800% of its target for over $16,000 U.S. The latest update from March 24, 2020 on the crowdfunded book is as follows:

      Everything Is Filled!

      Hello everyone

We hope all of you are staying healthy and happy during these unusual times.

At this point, ALL initial orders have shipped and everyone should have their order in-hand by now. If you have not received your package at all, there may be a bigger issue with the mail we’ll need to deal with and you can feel free to message us directly to let us know.

Some of you may have pending damaged/lost packages you’ve notified us of and I can assure you we’re in the process of working through those. Our fulfillment warehouse is still operational at the moment, but very limited in capacity. We ask that anyone waiting for a correction to their shipment please be patient while the warehouse staff continues to handle packages as quickly as possible.

Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the comics and other goodies. From Billy, and the rest of us at Dynamite, we thank you for making this special cover possible!

Tucci also ran another successful crowdfunding campaign for the first Shi new comic book comic content, via a graphic novel, in 15 years over the holidays last year. He exceeded his goal by over 700% raising over $81,000 plus a second chances campaign that put the overall total to over $115,000.

The latest update from March 21, 2020 is as follows:

There’s no shame in fear… what matters is how we face it.

      Crusaders!

George R.R. Martin wrote, “There’s no shame in fear… what matters is how we face it.”

Yes, these are indeed trying times, but with selflessness, love and fortitude, this pandemic shall pass. I’ve been on this earth for over 50 years and this truly is the most trying time in my life, but with Deborah at my side we are looking with due diligence after our children, family and neighbors. It is a time to come together (spiritually) and also to use social media as a bridge rather than a barrier. Skype, FaceTime, YouTube etc. with your loved ones, reconnect with old friend and make some new ones. The internet can be such a wonderful aid to humanity and can bring worlds together. Cast aside all negativity and embrace joy and conversation.

Here at Crusade we continue striving ever forward with production of Shi: Return of the Warrior. As I stated in our last update, more pages are coming in and are being prepped for color and lettering this week. The book is looking fantastic.

We also received our Shi: WOTW #1 25TH Anniversary Amazing Spider-Man #300 Homage BLACK LINE ART l Comics – each and everyone of our Kickstarter and IGG physical backers will receive this comic free as we surpassed our $95K total stretch goal – THANK YOU!

Also arrived are our Shi: WOTW #1 25TH Anniversary Fan Appreciation Editions. These books look wonderful (only 300 available)!

As you can see we are going full bore on our production and we want the THANK the 1,646 Indiegogo backer partners that have now surged Shi: Return of the Warrior to over $81,000.00! The total #nofanleftbehind count now sits at 2,655 with an amazing $151,479.00 in grand total contributions.

For those interested in adding to their original perks, Return of the Warrior remains LIVE on Indiegogo here:
