DC Comics Universe and Hawkman #23 Spoilers and Review follows.

Fate Of Earth 3’s Sky Tyrant Revealed As Year Of The Villain Ends!

Plus The Plague Doctor Of 1650?!

Hawkman #23 is available in stores on May 20, 2020 via Diamond, but is available this week through DC Comics’ two new distributors as well as digital.

We bridge from the modern day Hawkman and Hawkwoman bedeviled by Year of The Villain, with Hawkman’s body taken over by a past life in the form of Earth 3’s evil Hawkman the Sky Tyrant and…

…end up in 1950 Europe where the people are dealing with the black plague!

A past life of the Hawkman is the Plague Doctor who…

…counts the dead yet never gets sick nor flies?!

The people start seeing him a demon and want to burn him at the stake, but…

…he’s saved by a female Plague Doctor…

…who eloquently saves the male Plague Doctor’s life.

This is the first meeting between the 1960’s Hawkman and Hawkwoman.

We then pivot back to modern way where Hawkman wakes up free of Sky Tyrant’s control, but he and Hawkwoman have bigger problems now.

The Pulse:

I really enjoy these “Past Lives” stories. The art was a great too. A nice way to get a breather from Sky Tyrant before we march to Hawkman 325. An entertaining issue. 9 out of 10.
