DC Comics Rejigging Its Timeline Continuity Impacting Generation Zero To Generation Five Project and Reason For A Recent Cancellation? (Sans Spoilers)

On the weekend, we reported that DC Comics has cancelled its upcoming Manhunters: Lost History 5 issue mini-series.

This was a surprise since this mini-series was a spin-off from recent big DC event series Event Leviathan. A second spin-off Event Leviathan: Checkmate continues and is expected to include former Manhunter and current Leviathan Mark Shaw and current Manhunter Kate Spencer who is a member of Checkmate.

However, with Dan DiDio no longer with DC Comics and Jim Lee as the sole publisher, it seems likely that DC is working to recraft its previous timeline plans tied to the Generations project. DC Comics could have always done this series digitally and collected it afterwards if it had concerns about physical copy sales.

It was all also supposed to kick off in a big way with May 2020 FCBD 2020 and Generation Zero: Gods Among Us, but due to the pandemic that was not to be. Generation Zero, nor the other Generation one-shots, have been MIA from recent DC Comics solicitations. Stay tuned as we follow this developing story.
