Crisis On Infinite Earths, Zero Hour, Doomsday Clock and More Woven Together?!

Building on the ginormous events from Dark Nights: Death Metal #1 (full spoilers here), we’re going to unpack one piece of it further.

The book opens with the revelation that that the DC Universe (DCU) has already been rebooted with a promised Anti-Crisis reboot to come where everything from the past 35 years of DC Continuity matters. It looks like there is currently one Earth and possibly no multiverse, but its not totally clear after the first issue.

We now know what happened to the Justice League after they stepped (full spoilers) through the portal.

Then we get 35 years of DC’s macro continuity changing events referenced.

Here’s an annotated version.

We also learn why Perpetua needs the “former” super-heroes and the super-villains trapped by Wonder Woman, their jailer; she needs those who can to remember these old events to fuel her.

This series is expected to include a redeemed Lex Luthor (full spoilers here) and Nix Uotan, Superjudge, Multiversity’s Last Of The Monitors (full spoilers here). Here is the Dark Nights: Death Metal event checklist with all the current tie-ins, but that could expand.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #2 hits stands on July 14, 2020; here’s the OG solicitation, but the OG release date was changed to the July one due to pandemic.
