Spoilers

Marvel Comics Universe and Lords Of Empyre: Hulkling #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

Bridging Incoming To Empyre!

There are a few more variant covers to this issue in addition to the above.

Plus the main cover.

We open with a storyline catch-up and creators’ credits page.

Then we have a flashback to how Hulkling was conceived; Skrull and Kree love.

In a gay bar, Bel-Dann and Raksor want to recruit Hulkling…

…to unite the Kree and Skrull peoples as their emperor to deal with a looming threat.

Hulkling commands the Star Sword to stop a riot of Skrulls who were tailing Bel-Dann and Raksor.

Hulkling confides in his boyfriend Wiccan…

…before he assumes the throne.

He is introduced to his Royal Guard, but takes exception to the Super Skrull who killed his mom; they also get word that Bel-Dann and Raksor have been assassinated as told in Incoming.

In front of the Kree and Skrull people he renounces his relationship with Wiccan because he is of Earth, but…

…it’s a ruse.

Nonetheless, the combined Kree / Skrull heads to Earth as Empyre begins.

The next Lords of Empyre one-shot focuses on the Celestial Messiah and hits stands next week on August 5, 2020.

While Emperor Hulkling is a regular feature in Empyre, whose next issue is next week with Empyre #4, Hulkling and Wiccan take center stage in the following issue in Empyre #5 out on August 12, 2020.

The Pulse:

An interesting issue that re-introduces Hulkling to readers and connects the dots from Incoming to the Empyre event. Ok art. 6 out of 10.
