Marvel Comics Universe and Empyre X-Men #3 Spoilers and Review follows.

X-Corp Makes Deal With Zombies In War With Cotati…

… Plus TWO Crazy Cliffhangers!

The book opens with a dramatis personae and…

…then we get into the action as reinforcements arrive to help X-Corp against…

…the alien plant Cotati!

At the same time, mutant zombies of Genosaha strike a deal with X-Corp; their help in exchange for the bodies left behind by the Cotati.

Turns out, this zombie was Explodey Boy.

Elsewhere there is an X-Men and Hordeculture breakthrough in dealing with the Cotati that…

…Nightcrawler seemingly puts to use!

The book ends with Magik turning to the dark side to…

…deal with the threat, but is she in control?

Also, it appears the plant life Cotati brain that the mutant zombies have been chomping on…

…as birthed a giant plant / zombie hybrid?!

Magik’s transformation was spoiled by the variant cover to Empyre X-Men #4 (of 4) that hits stands next week on August 19, 2020.

The Pulse:

A wildly amusing issue that was a bit gory at times. Cool seeing the diverse characterization of the various X-people and Hordeculture. Decent art. Still not clear on how this ties into the main Empyre story. 7 out of 10.
