DC Comics Universe and Nightwing #73 Spoilers and Review follows.

Joker War Tie-In Sees…

…Dick Grayson Team With Jason Todd Red Hood…

…Tim Drake…

…But No Damian Wayne Robin…

…Against Barbara Gordon Batgirl?!

Well, Nightwing #73 takes on a journey to…

…milestone Nightwing #75 (out on October 20, 2020) and…

…the redemption of Dick Grayson, but it is an ugly journey to get there through issue #73.

The issue opens with Batgirl bound…

…in the middle of an outdoor cage with a fight club type scenario to come.

Nightwing who is no longer Ric Grayson, as he’s back to Dick Grayson, but the catch is he’s been brainwashed by the Joker using a Court of Owls’ gem.

So, his origin has been twisted in his head…

…where he sees Joker, and not Batman (a Batman with guns) as his father figure after his parents’ deaths.

He also has no feelings for one-time girlfriend, and childhood friend, Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl…

…who he will willingly fight in the cage for the Joker who has Punchline in tow.

After a few pages of gritty fighting, Batgirl tries to have Nightwing remember who he is, but…

…it doesn’t work and she flees.

The book ends with Nightwing recruiting all the ex-Robins to hunt down Batgirl who he says has been corrupted by the Joker and wants to blow up a hospital!

Next up is Nightwing #74 out on September 8, 2020.

The Pulse:

It is really an emotional issue seeing Dick Grayson portrayed this. Decent art. 7 out of 10.
