Marvel Comics Universe & Empyre X-Men #4 Spoilers & Review: Scarlet Witch Still Dealing With House Of M Trauma?!

Spoilers

Marvel Comics Universe and Empyre X-Men #4 Spoilers and Review follows.

Scarlet Witch Still Dealing…

…With Trauma Of House Of M?!

“No More Mutants”…

…fallout…

… 15 years later!

The book opens with a dramatis personae and…

…we then head back to Empyre X-Men #1 and see…

…what Scarlet Witch caused and was afraid of.

She then seeks Doctor Strange’s help in getting rid of 16 million mutant zombies.

After a way-too-long series of pages, he tries, but can’t; however the spell that brought them to “life” will expire in 30 days.

We then pivot to end of the 29th day and the giant Cotati zombie, or something, that is now ravaging Genosha.

The Beast brings in Explodey Boy to deal with…

…his zombie self; remember, the X-Men can come back to life now.

After a way-too-long series of pages, zombie Explodey Boy, detonates himself and the giant animated salad.

That leaves Ilyana Rasputin seemingly as the Goblin Queen villain, but…

…as the spell wears off and…

…the zombies go back to the grave, so does Ilyana return to the side of the angels so-to-speak.

The book ends with the Scarlet Witch still traumatized, but she did in 2005’s House of M.

The Pulse:

This was an oversized issue that felt 15 pages too long. The moments were intriguing, but the build-up’s were too long as noted above particularly at 2 points. Nice seeing Angel’s X-Corp team, but they took a backseat this issue. Decent art. However, this “tie-in” Empyre mini-series is not relevant to the main Empyre story. So, I give this a 4 out of 10.
