DC Comics and Dark Nights: Death Metal: Speed Metal #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

Wally West Flash Has Secret Weapon With…

…Jay Garrick Justice Society Of America (JSA) Flash, Barry Allen and Kid Flash?!

The book gets readers caught up on the original Wally West’s story from end of Flashpoint to New 52 to DC Rebirth…

…to the revelations of Doomsday Clock to…

…recent events including Dark Nights: Metal and now Dark Nights: Death Metal.

Now, Wally West the Flash, Barry Allen the Flash and Jay Garrick the original Flash are racing from a Death Metal demon and…

…the Black Flash of death and a horde of zombie Flashes.

Combatting that is Wally West who utters the Speed Force formula of JSA stalwart Johnny Quick to stop time and…

…hatch a plan to get Metron the New God’s Mobius Chair.

The demon changes a returned Wallace West Kid Flash, Barry Allen and Jay Garrick…

…to deal with threats which includes Barry Allen giving Wally West his speed so Wally doesn’t have to tap into the destructive power of eh anti-crisis that he still wields a portion of.

Wally West ends up in the Speed Force in his old 1980s/1990s Flash costume amongst his friends and family.

He has the Mobius Chair and his allies and…

…they’re ready for Dark Nights: Death Metal #4…

…in stores on October 13, 2020.

The Pulse:

An interesting issue whose purpose was to bring the Mobius Chair into play. A lot of emotional and dramatic moments, but this issue didn’t feel vital despite it being nice to see Wally West as a leader among the Flashes. Amazing art though. 5 out of 10.
