…before Joker could do more damage to the Batman, Harley Quinn…

…shoots his eye out and straps bombs tp herself and Joker so Batman has to choose who to save; she wants Gotham City rid of the threat of the Joker.

Batman tells Joker to free himself from the bomb since he was able to hack the new Batman suit; he says he won’t, but Batman goes after Harley Quinn anyway.

A week later, Harley Quinn is recovering in hospitals and she learns Joker did escape and his bomb wasn’t activated.

He’s ready to be a better Batman as…

…the Ghost-Maker debuts.

There are also back-up stories featuring Clownhunter (full spoilers here) and Punchline (full spoilers here); the latter leads into the Punchline #1 one-shot in stores on November 10 / 22, 2020.

The former Clownhunter arc continues in Batman #101 out on October 20 / 21, 2020 also with the Grifter and Ghost-Maker.

Followed by Batman #102 in store on November 3 / 4, 2020 with more Ghost-Maker.

The Pulse:

Not as high-octane of an ending as I would have expected, but satisfying. Nice teases of what’s next. Great art. 8 out of 10.
