DC Comics and Punchline #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

Return Of Harper Row Aka Bluebird During The Trial Of Alexia Kaye Aka Punchline Plus Batman and Joker!

In addition to the above there are several variant covers for this issue below.

Plus the main cover.

Punchline, the most popular and talked about net new character at DC Comics since the 1993 comic book debut of Harley Quinn in The Batman Adventures #12, one year after her actual debut in 1992’s Batman: The Animated Series’ episode “Joker’s Favor”, gets the one-shot treatment that kicks off with a Batman sighting from her past.

In modern day, Alexis Kaye aka Punchline, is on trial for her heinous acts with the Joker during the Joker War.

Dr. Leslie Thompkins indicates she is fit to stand trial.

Outside the court, we have the return of Harper Row aka Bluebird.

As Punchline is being taking back to prison and not Arkham Asylum, as she is fit to stand trial, she begins her plan…

…to gain sympathy from Gotham City and beyond with a viral plan.

Even Harper Row’s brother gets drawn into the Alexis Kaye’s video podcasts about her life…

…making him sympathetic to her case as her alternatives facts seem compelling.

The last episode of her online “confessional” is, surprise-surprise, episode #52…

…where her words obscure…

…her murderous tendencies and…

…her willingness to…

…to be with the Joker and be like the Joker.

On a subsequent trial date for Punchline, she dresses up as her alter ego instead of Alexis Kaye, and is met by throngs of supporters…

…including Bluebird’s brother as she looks on and we’re promised more in 2021.

The Pulse:

A compelling story with decent art. Punchline and Bluebird make an interesting pairing. I am intrigued by what’s to come after being entertained by this issue. 8 out of 10.
