Marvel Comics and Daredevil #25 Spoilers and Review follows.

Why…

…How and…

…Who Is The New Daredevil?!

If you’re like me, you haven’t been reading this book regularly, but Marvel sets you up for success as you embark on reading this milestone issue:

Last year, Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto kicked off their stellar run on DAREDEVIL with an accidental death that has haunted Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil. In DAREDEVIL #1, Matt’s actions caused the demise of a low-level criminal named Leo Carraro. Regardless of Leo’s past, Matt simply hasn’t been at peace with himself since this happened. That’s why he turned himself in for murder in issue #21 and took a two-year sentence in issue #24. In DAREDEVIL #25, the Devil is in jail… again. But at the same time, there’s a Devil in Hell’s Kitchen. A new Daredevil.

The book opens with Daredevil frenemy Elektra visiting him in jail where gets to still keep his anonymity as part of his plea deal.

The Hand and the First require Daredevil’s attention, but he is prepared to pay his penance in jail.

If Elektra has turned over a new leaf it is time for her to show it; she also surprises Daredevil by revealing she knows he’s really lawyer Matt Murdock.

She ponders that with Daredevil’s mentor Stick as readers learn that NYC is all behind Daredevil.

As Daredevil stews in prison…

…a new Daredevil emerges…

…a little more violent than the original, but…

…effective despite…

…almost killing herself!

Elektra is Daredevil!

The Pulse:

A compelling start to a new arc that should bring in new readers. Solid art. I am intrigued. 8 out of 10.
