Marvel Comics and Symbiote Spider-Man: King In Black #2 Spoilers and Review follows.
Secret History Of Knull and Venom Unravels…
…With An Avengers Stalwart?!
We open with a recap of what happened in the first issue as Black Knight’s benefactor Merlin the magician, yes THAT one, appears!
He frightens Spider-Man, spidey sense distinctively not tingling, telling the Black Knight he needs him back at Avengers Mansion.
Elsewhere, Ned Leeds, the man who will become the third Hobgoblin, struggles under the influence of a symbiote.
He attacks J. Jonah Jameson, the publisher of the Daily Bugle Newspaper, but…
…is confronted by JJJ’s “foe” Spider-Man!
Elsewhere, Merlin tells the Black Knight that his Ebony Sword may be the difference maker in a prophesized return of Knull (in modern day’s King In Black), but…
…the Knight senses something is off with Merlin and he’s right!
The symbiote impales him as the other symbiote elsewhere frees himself from Ned Leeds to distract Spider-Man and…
…it works.
The book ends with spacefaring Kang the Conqueror, who has seen the future machinations of Knull, and a pre Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccoon enter the fray with Black Knight in Avengers Mansion!
The Pulse:
An intriguing issue with solid art. Even though its set in the past it feels relevant to modern day King in Black event. A fun read too. 8 out of 10.
