Marvel Comics and Amazing Spider-Man #58 Spoilers and Review follows.
Kindred Shadow Over Kingpin As…
…Green Goblin and Negative Man Struggle Between Good and Evil?!
We open mid-action with a bit of recap of the last arc and the machinations of Kindred aka Harry Osborn…
…before we see the modern day between Spider-man and well dressed masked “demons”.
We then have a flashback to the recent past to the shelter Aunt May Parker, Spider-Man aka Pater Parker’s aunt, and her newest visitor…
…Martin Li aka Mr. Negative who was purged of his evil persona by the Sin-Eater in a recent arc, but…
…when the Sin-Eater was purged of his stolen sins Mr. Negative may have returned to Li with a vengeance.
Elsewhere, Peter Parker tells Liz Allan, Harry Osborn’s wife, that he is Kindred and captured; she doesn’t believe it, but her son Normie does who himself was corrupted by grandpa Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin and was the Goblin Childe during the Red Goblin arc that ended the last Amazing Spider-Man series.
Normie shows his mom his dad’s hidden closet of his pre-Kindred persona of the Hobgoblin and his weapons.
Norman Osborn crashes the party so to speak and Liz Allan is not happy to see him, but despite providing unknown protective services to Liz and Normie, Norman came for Spider-man.
The demons are set to attack Aunt May’s shelter.
We then see Kingpin visiting a trapped Kindred, but…
…who is really the captive?
The book ends of a Demon wanting Mr. Negative back and negotiating with the Kingpin over it as we get a tease of Amazing Spider-man #59 on shelves on February 10, 2021.
An action-packed issue that didn’t feel bloated or incoherent. Well paced with drama and intrigue peppered in. Decent art. 7 out of 10.
