Marvel Comics and S.W.O.R.D. #3 Spoilers and Review follows.
Who Is The Mole On This X-Men Team For Alpha Flight In…
…Alleged King In Black Tie-In?
So, this issue is a hero’s journey for S.W.O.R.D.’s Manifold who…
…can go from point A to point B as long as he’s seen them, but…
…he’s not a teleporter.
This mutant nonetheless looks to recruit allies in the fight against Knull, but…
…it appears his bartering game is weak.
Next stop is Henry Gyrich’s space HQ, but…
…while the one-time Avengers government liaison is now head of the Alpha Flight Program (including Gamma Flight, but no word on Omega Flight)…
…Manifold’s “talking to space” mutant powers helps him in some espionage that…
…that uncovers Gyrich’s anti-mutant Orchis Protocol and…
…as Manifold leaves readers learn that Gyrich has a mole in S.W.O.R.D.
The book ends with Manifold returning his S.W.O.R.D. HQ and then being sent off to find his teammates elsewhere…
…which he does!
So, this ends where last issue ended (full spoilers here) with a Knull’d Cable (per below) taking out his teammates.
The Pulse:
Despite being called a KIB tie-in, the references were scant, but Manifold turned out to be a compelling enough character to carry the issue. I liked that cliffhanger ties to last issue’s cliffhanger and hopefully next issue we see the progression. Solid art in this issue. Entertaining effort. 8 out of 10.
