Spoilers, Top Story

DC Comics and DC Future State: The Next Batman #4 Spoilers and Review follows.

Jace / Tim Fox…

…Escapes Tone Deaf Black History Month Lynching…

…To Tease What’s Next!

Tim Fox tracks down his suspected murders and is lynched by one as the other looks on.

Naturally, he gets out the predicament and…

…wills an end to the fight.

Eric admits it was him not Sara behind what they believe was a justified murder.

Batman doesn’t care as he’ll take both of them in; he gives them a weapon as he doesn’t trust Eric generally yet trusts him to protect Sara.

They’re chased by the Magistrate’s Peacekeepers leaving Eric to sacrifice himself and using Batman’s weapon.

That leads to a fight with the Peacekeepers and his mom…

…that gets intense.

Book begins to end with Batman turning in Sara as…

…he gets shot for show.

Book actually ends with the Fox family doing family things as…

…they see how their matriarch recovers.

The Batgirls story opens with a prison riot against the Peacekeepers…

…having the Resistance enter the fray with…

…the rebeals winning.

Gotham City Sirens tale…

…gets emotional…

…with a memory honored.

The Pulse:

Art all through this book, main story and two back-ups, was mediocre. The core Batman story left a bad taste in my mouth due to lynching imagery, but ended strong on family. Batgirls back story had potential, but story had more potential then it delivered on. Gotham City Sirens back story was emotional and touching. Overall,  whole book gets a 5.5 out of 10.
