Epic Games That Will Hype You Up This Year

Columns, News

2021 is looking like a great year for gaming. We have some exciting new titles coming out and also some well-known titles and franchises with major updates. We will have a closer look at what should be the most popular games in 2021 on various platforms.

Most of these titles were released before 2021, but they certainly deserve the hype this year. With eSports and well as most successful multiplayer titles a game needs time to build a loyal and engaged following. This explains why most of the popular games in 2021 were released in 2020 or 2019. There are a few exceptions where it is just a new release of a long-standing popular franchise. In these cases, the loyal fans just move from the previous version to the new one.

FPS Games

First-person shooters are always a favorite among gamers. FPS games are great if you have a competitive side and want to compete against other real players in real-time. There is also a great competitive eSports scene built around most of these titles.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty Mobile version is one of the most exciting releases on mobile in the last few years. 2021 is the year to give this FPS game a go if you haven’t tried it. Great graphics and exciting gameplay make this a great expansion for the Call of Duty franchise to mobile gaming.

You might think that playing a first-person shooter game with either a controller or mouse and keyboard will be a better experience. The truth is that playing with a touch screen can be as easy as playing with a controller.

This is a very satisfying game to play. The in-game audio makes it a perfect game to play with friends. Multiplayer game modes are well suited if you want to play games of less than 10 minutes each. They are also very strategic with different objectives on well-known small maps.

The battle royale game mode is a longer game mode on a large map. Join 100 other players and fight for survival on a large and shrinking map. Happy hunting.

Activision is also adding new character skins, weapons, and weapon skins every season. If you are into competitive mobile gaming this is one title you cannot ignore.

Epic Games to get you hyped on inside pulse

CODM is available on iOS and Android. Not that interested in mobile gaming? Have a look at Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, Warzone and Modern Warfare.

PUBG

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is another title that is very popular on mobile, console, and PC. PUBG mobile also had a major update and is better than ever. If you love battle royale style FPS games this one is worth a look.

In-game audio makes it another great game to play with friends. Where the multiplayer game modes are perhaps the strongest feature of CODM the battle royale gameplay in PUBG is its best feature. Until you have been rewarded with “Winner winner chicken dinner!” you will need to keep practicing.

Similar to CODM there are regular updates and improvements to this popular title. PUBG Mobile is also available for iOS and Android. Also if you prefer console or PC you will be happy with those versions as well.

Sports Games

Great for playing with friends and putting on the big screen in the lounge.

NBA 2K21

Sports fans and specifically basketball fans can’t go wrong with this one. Just like the previous twenty-one versions of this game, it is hugely popular. As the name says it is a basketball simulation game based on the NBA.

Minecraft

It is impossible to make a list of epic games without this one. Never forget Minecraft and never discount it. This popular title will still be great for years to come. Versions available for most Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Windows.

Minecraft features one of the biggest communities in gaming today. The unique universe, style, and massive following are what makes Minecraft a long-time favorite.

Racing Simulator Games

Real motorsport is an expensive sport or hobby which is why racing sims are so popular. Even professional racing drivers enjoy sim racing. Brush up your racing skills in the comfort of your own home with these realistic racing simulators. Some racing games are just that: games. Some racing games are not games, but simulators.

If you are an aspiring race driver or just looking for some healthy competition while testing your skills: get a simulator and not a game. Here are your best options for both mobile, console, and PC.

Gran Turismo

Even though Gran Turismo 7 will only be released in 2022 this franchise is still worth playing. Super realistic driving experiences are what GT is known for. Want to test your driving skills against other players? This is the one for you. Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 6 are the current titles worth playing.

It is worth looking at a full racing simulator setup if you enjoy Gran Turismo. Nothing like a good steering wheel and racing sim setup to get the full experience. Pressing a button is not as satisfying as putting your foot down on a pedal. Buckle up!

There are many car enthusiast clubs and up-and-coming racing drivers who are using Gran Turismo as a racing platform. There are even FIA-certified Gran Turismo championships available if you are a top driver. It works on older consoles that are available at great prices. The realism in the game physics and mechanics is astounding. You will have to take a car around a real race track to get closer than this.

Real Racing 3

For a realistic racing simulator on mobile download Real Racing 3 by Electronic Arts right now. This simulator is available for iOS and Android. Real cars and realistic real circuits to race on. There is both a road car series as well as a race car series to compete in.

This simulator will keep you busy for a long time. You will need to unlock new challenges by completing many races. There are also different race formats to keep you interested. Race formats include cup races, speed challenges, elimination races, and drag races.

Unlocking new cars is done by completing challenges and race series. After a car is unlocked you will have to race to earn money to buy the new car. You will also have to spend the in-game currency on upgrading your favorite cars.

Test yourself against other real players or complete the various single-player challenges and race series. For the best experience use “Tilt B” controls and switch off all driver aids. You will be controlling the steering by tilting your device (don’t worry the screen and horizon stays level) and accelerating or braking with your thumbs on the screen. You will thank me later.
