MVD Rewind Collection Brings Horror, Action & Cannon Love To Blu-ray

Disc Announcements, News

MVD Rewind Collection will dust off a few gems from the VHS era that would lurk on the shelves of your nearby Dave’s Videodrome in the coming months. They’ll also give us a fresh documentary about the greatest movie studio of the ’80s. First is Action U.S.A. which lives up to its promise of action and full of America. With the classic tale of a woman in witness protection and the people who want her wiped off the map. Drive is also about action across America, but this time the person being chased is very special. Mortuary has Lynda Day George and Christopher George finding out why so many dead people are hanging out at the Mortuary. The House of Sorority Row will make you want to stay in your lame dorm room and not pledge to a sisterhood. The title that has me most excited is The Go-Go Boys: The Inside Story Of Cannon Films. This documentary is Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus telling their story of how they created the most exciting action studio in the ’80s. They gave us Sly, Chuck Norris and JVCD. If you listen to the Golan Globus Theater podcast, you know the glory of these men. People were weirded out when Electric Boogaloo: the Wild Story of Cannon Films didn’t feature any interviews with the duo. The truth is they were too busy making their own account of those wild days. Here’s the press release from MVD Rewind with all the details on the upcoming Blu-rays and their bonus features:

Eric D. Wilkinson, MVD Director of Acquisitions and producer of the MVD Rewind Collection curator shares his enthusiasm for these new releases. “I’m excited to be working with our great content partners to bring both Drive and The Go-Go Boys to Blu-ray for the first time, and to give collectors a second chance to pick up Action U.S.A., Mortuary and The House on Sorority Row on disc once again. I’m a geek for video store culture and our packaging reflects that. It gives fans that lived through the video store era an opportunity to enjoy the nostalgia, and for our younger collectors, they get to experience these for the very first time, just as they were.”
