Explorers: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Launches In May

Disc Announcements, News

Explorers put Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix into space back in the summer of 1985. The duo played kids who have dreams about how to create a spaceship and follow through with these visions. But what lurks out there? The movie wasn’t a massive hit when it was released since people were still flocking to Back the Future and it opened on the same weekend as Live Aid. Who wanted to go to the movies when the concert event of a generation was on MTV all day? Luckily this was the era when home video was in full effect and the movie found it’s audience at mom and pop rental stores. Now the movie is getting a collector’s edition Blu-ray so fans can delve deeper into the intergalactic mystery with director Joe Dante, the cast and crew of the film. Here’s the press release from Shout! Factory:
