DC Comics and Justice League #59 Spoilers and Review follows.

Does Black Adam REALLY Need Help? Who’s THE Flash Now; Barry Allen Or Wally West? BIG Return Threatens REALITY In Justice League Dark?

The book has a few variant covers including those related to Zack Snyder’s Justice League film on HBO Max out this week; they also come in black and white.

Plus the Infinite Frontier variant.

Finally the main cover.

The book opens with Black Adam in the country he rules over Kandaq and…

…he’s attacked by and fights someone called Brutus, but…

…the Justice League gets involved and Brutus escapes.

Black Adam does not follow the Justice League to the Hall of Justice where more teammates are revealed including…

…Wally West as THE Flash.

While they try to sort out Brutus’ deal, Black Adam shows an interest in Naomi.

In the main story above we see most of the members of the Justice League appear except for Wonder Woman who is the OG on Hippolyta.

The back-up tale features the Justice League Dark and…

…THE wizard Merlin’s return, but…

…all is NOT as it seems!

The Pulse:

An intriguing issue from front to back with stories that feel fresh and accessible rendered by art that amplifies the lighter tone of the opening story plus the dark tone of the back-up.  I would have hoped for Black Adam up front and more JLD in back, but this issue sets up what’s next. 7.5 out of 10.
