Nightwing Becomes Birds Of Prey?

Oracle / Batgirl and A Rescue?!

What Is Alfred Pennyworth’s BIG Secret?

We open in the past with the first meeting of Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson culminating with James Gordon and Alfred Pennyworth getting reacquainted and some sage advice from Alfred to Dick.

We then pivot to the present…

…where Dick Grayson as Nightwing rescues a dog from a gang who was hunting and hurting her for sport; looks like Nightwing gets a new canine sidekick.

Later, we see the City of Blüdhaven more corrupt than Gotham City.

Blockbuster runs things here and facilitates regime change by killing the mayor in front of the Police Chief and City Council President and new Mayor Zucco; you’ll remember that name as a Zucco killed Dick Grayson’s parents as I recall.

Elsewhere, Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl and Oracle, breaks into Dick Grayson’s apartment.

She loves the dog, but as executor of Alfred Pennyworth’s estate needs to talk to Dick.

Turns out was a billionaire and has left lots of dollars to Dick…

…including a touching final message.

The book ends with Mayor Zucco seemingly planning to go after Dick Grayson perhaps not knowing he’s Nightwing?

Next up is Nightwing #79 in stores on April 20 / 21, 2021.

The Pulse:

Nice art, but the strength of this story is the plot, dialogue and characterization. A very engaging first issue of the Infinite Frontier era. I will be back. Bravo. 9 out of 10.
