Image Comics and Nocterra #2 Spoilers and Review follows.

Can The Hunted Really Flee When They’re Already In Hell?!

The book has a few more variant covers on top of the above.

Plus the main cover.

We open to the creators credits page and…

…then after a brief stop in the past, where Val Riggs and her brothers past continues to be unveiled, we move…

…to the present where Sundog outruns the beasts of the night.

We learn how the world went black when Riggs’ cargo explains how his invention opened the wrong “door” and let the darkness – perhaps even snuffed out the sun – and these creatures in devastating Earth.

Riggs senses he’s lying a bit, but…

…she’s still catching their food; looks the smaller of the beasts are edible?

Later, Riggs gets word from her dispatcher that she’s being hunted because Blacktop Bill wants the old man, who is traveling with his granddaughter, but before Riggs can get any info from her cargo…

…Blacktop Bill and his henchpeople confront the Riggs et al.

He tries to make a deal with Riggs…

…if she leaves she and her brother will eventually found and killed, but if they give up the cargo that won’t happen.

Well, Riggs backs up her truck as leverage for her cargo; she believes him or in or something and…

…decides against taking Blacktop Bill up on his offer!

Next up is Nocterra #3 out on May 5, 2021.

The Pulse:

The world continues to be established as do the past and present of Sundog. Compelling story and amazing art.  8 out of 10.
