Spoilers, Top Story

Marvel Comics and Guardians Of The Galaxy #13 Spoilers and Review follows.

Everything Changes In Milestone GOTG #175 Legacy Issue With Surprise After Surprise!

The book has a few more variant covers in addition to the above.

Plus the main cover.

Which is part of interlocking covers for the next few issues.

We open with a storyline catch-up and creators credits page.

In the absence of a dramatis personae, which many Marvel titles open with and this series should too, based solely on the size of this team, here is the list of the team roster by the end of this arc.

The book opens with the heart of the Kree / Skrull Empire being evacuated due to…

…an attack by the Progenitors.

At the same time some of the expanded Guardians of the Galaxy are on a mystery on a far off world.

They found corpses and Skrull symbols or language marked into a tree.

Elsewhere, another cohort of this expanded GOTG team works to help former Young Avengers and now rulers of the Kree / Skrull Empire, due to their marriage, Emperor Hulkling and Wiccan…

…as they take on the Progenitors in…

…unique fashion…

…sending a message that the galaxy is guarded.

The mystery deepens on this world, but first…

…we learn that the team’s two Quasars share space and cannot both exist in the “real world” per se.

Looks like the planets natives…

…are worshipping a Skrull priestess of some kind.

The book ends with the other GOTG team…

…confronted by Doctor Doom?!

The Pulse:

I hadn’t been reading this series yet found this issue accessible. While I the find the underlying mystery intriguing, I find this first issue suffered from having too many characters that didn’t have their moments and were not wholly relatable or known quantities. I know the new team is being established, decompressed storytelling, etc., but I am willing to see where this first arc takes us. Solid art. 7.5 out of 10.
