Marvel Comics & Iron Man #9 Spoilers & Review: Korvac’s Origins Puzzle Solved With The Invaders’ Human Torch?!

Spoilers

Marvel Comics and Iron Man #9 Spoilers and Review follows.

Korvac’s Origins…

…Puzzle Solved With…

…The Invaders’ Human Torch?!

The book opens in 2997 where…

…a human Michael Korvac kills his fellow Earthborn slaves…

…for his alien overlords.

They in turn betray Korvac…

…who dared show regret or other emotions over his actions.

We move from the future where Korvac became more machine than man to the present where he tracks down…

…his brother the original Human Torch of Invaders infamy; Jim Hammond is Adam I and Michael Korvac is Adam IV.

He offers his brother the Human Torch a gift of a new body.

We then get another flashback…

…where Korvac took out the Avengers and…

…was trying to do the same with Iron Man.

These images beamed into the Human Torch’s body do not convince him to align with his brother.

So, he will be a thoughtless puppet for Korvac instead.

The Pulse:

No Iron Man? No problem. I didn’t miss shellhead in this compelling story of Korvac’s past and future. The Human Torch integration of Korvac’s origin was intriguing. Solid art. 8 out of 10.
