Spoilers

Marvel Comics and Immortal Hulk: Time Of Monsters #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

The First Hulk Was NOT In Avengers 1,000,000 B.C.!

He first appears in 9,500 B.C. actually.

The middle east is where the…

…first recorded reference…

…to a Hulk as we know him / it…

…surfaces…

…a more monstrous Hulk than modern day.

A ruthless Hulk…

…who is quote immortal.

Despite being defeated initially and cannibalized literally…

…he reforms by pulling himself together, from their stomachs, to…

…slaughter them all.

There’s also an unrelated back-up story involving the Scarecrow.

There is a Hulk-like character on Avengers 1,000,000 B.C., but he’s the first human Starbrand host.

That character’s origins were revealed in Avengers #26 (full spoilers here).

Let’s remember that haunting cover to Immortal Hulk #16; THIS is Marvel’s Hulk.

Well, at least until the new series begins in November 2021.

The Pulse:

Cool to see Marvel exploring the Immortal Hulk’s origins including the no longer mythic Green Door. Decent art in the main story to get across the horror vibe. Back-up story was fun on art and story, but was a jarring transition from the main story. 6 out of 10.
