It is relevant to the six part Infinite Frontier mini-series that kicked off last week with Infinite Frontier #1 (full spoilers here).
How onto the last story of Infinite Frontier Secret Files #1.
The mythology around Psycho-Pirate has changed.
He knows can be found to ask three questions of a willing person wearing his mask; if they get the questions right the person gets a share of his powers, but if they get a question wrong they’re never seen again.
The first question is “what can we know”? The person gets his answer right.
The second question is “what is real”? In the preamble to the question we understand that Psycho-Pirate has become unstuck from reality due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
He gets the second question right which leads to the third “who are you”?
Well, the Psycho-Pirate does not like his answer and…
…shows him the vast whiteness of what is behind reality; I think it’s implied that it’s the classic entropy we’ve seen in DC’s various crisis and even Zero Hour, but…
…it’s something else; representing someone else who…
…speaks to Psyho-Pirate after he presumably killed the person who failed the last question.
It is Darkseid and…
…he has plans for the Psycho-Pirate that scares Director Bones.
Next up is Infinite Frontier #2 (of 6) on shelves on July 13 / 14, 2021.
The Pulse:
An intriguing issue that gave focus to the various leads of the Infinite Frontier mini-series. I enjoyed learning more about why the Psycho-Pirate is special to the fabric of DC’s multiverse and Crisis-level events. Decent art. 7 out of 10.
