Archie Comics and The Mighty Crusaders: The Shield #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

Rob Liefeld Introduces Icons To A New Generation With 3 Shield(s)?

The above is the variant cover by Tone Rodriguez that offended Rob Liefeld while below is the issue’s cover gallery seemingly minus that variant.

The book’s ending includes the below that I think is a good table setter too.

Here’s the creators credits page to kick off the book.

William Higgins is the Shield a grizzled veteran hero…

…traversing the timeline as the super-hero team the Mighty Crusaders and…

…their leader Victoria Adam also the Shield trying to figure out to about him and Joe Higgins…

…the modern era Shield.

Looks like someone wants to repatriate his armor…

…leading to a prolonged fight scene and eventually a downed helicopter…

…from which the Shield arms himself and is presumably confronted by the older time traveling Shield.

The book ends with the Mighty Crusaders…

…casting their votes to…

…execute Joe Higgins and not William Higgins?!

The Pulse:

Despite the controversy around this now one-shot, the art was solid and the story intriguing. The fight scene between the soldier and helicopter with soldiers wanting Joe Higgins’ armor was too long, but the rest of the issue, including seeing the redesigned Crusaders, was cool. I wonder what Archie Comics will do from her? Will the story continues without Liefeld? 7 out of 10.
