United Order Debuts As Synmar Returns!

Checkmate Teased As Daemon Rose Debuts!

Plus Batman Vs. Justice League Dark!

The modern-day United Planets is grappling with the threat of the Synmar Utopica which…

…leads to the debut of the UP’s fighting force the United Order.

However, the Synmar attack the UP and this new team may not be enough to hold off the threat.

On Earth, Green Arrow and Black Canary are…

…being stalked.

Turns out the United Order wasn’t enough to stop the Synmar so they warn the Justice League of the threat coming their way.

Elsewhere, Green Arrow and Black Canary…

…confront their stalker who calls himself Daemon Rose who…

…we’ll see more of in Checkmate #2 (of 6) on shelves on July 27 / 28, 2021…

…as well as week earlier in Justice League #65.

The book ends with the Synmar at the doors of the Hall of Justice!

The back-up is a continuing Justice League Dark tale…

…with more Batman than before.

The Pulse:

The main story has some interesting characters interactions, but the threat of the Synmar was not welcomed during Bendis’ Superman run and its not something I’m looking forward to here. On the other hand, the United Order and Daemon Rose were welcomed net new additions to DC lore. I was conflicted by the main story for those reasons. The back-up JLD story was intriguing with Batman thrown in. 6.5 out of 10.
